Simply Organized by Kari Jane takes the GOLD in organizing!

This week we were faced with the task of turning less space into less mess for a local Manhattan Beach based sports entertainment company. While many of the employees are in Rio for the 2016 Olympics, the Simply Organized by Kari Jane dream team took the gold here at home!

As you can imagine, disorganization can often lead to decreased morale and productivity in the workplace. This company recently decided to downsize the amount of office space they utilize and quickly became overwhelmed with a supply storage room overflowing with office and marketing supplies. Once everything was pulled out of the cabinets and drawers, it was amazing to see all of the things that accumulated over the years. Next, we worked with them to purge the outdated and unused materials. It was easy to find other businesses in the building that were happy to take the excess supplies. Now that is what we call a win-win!

One important thing to remember when organizing is that every container has potential. Our team LOVES finding the potential in containers that the client already has! For example, there was an overwhelming amount of file folders, but instead of getting rid of all them we were able to use some hanging file folders to store various mailing labels for easy access in the shipping supply area. We even made use of the file folder boxes, using them as containers to store things like report folders and page protectors! We also got creative with the extra trash cans and used them to store tall display easels upright in the corner of the room. In this particular job, we only spent $10 on new containers for the entire space!

After taking control of the excessive inventory, we created space for the company to grow into. Knowing that this company will continue to accumulate marketing inventory and tech supplies we were able to leave a few cabinets empty so there is space for the items they will bring back home from Rio. With the counter space clear of clutter, everything in its place, and containers labeled we are so excited for the employees to come back to their newly organized office oasis!

It can be extremely tough to keep a room clean, especially one that everyone is constantly sifting through to find things they need. However, having an effective office organization system in place will help employees find the supplies they are looking for AND know where to put them when they are done. Storing supplies that are rarely needed on the higher shelves and putting the more commonly needed items on easy-to-reach shelves will make your space more efficient. Making it effortless for employees to find what they are looking for will keep them from digging through every drawer and keep your space organized! If organization was an Olympic sport, we would absolutely dominate! Go Team USA!!
